Ciyanjano

Ciyanjano is a piece of property that is owned by ACTION Zambia Ministries (AZM) on the western outskirts of Lusaka, Zambia. The twenty acre property was bought with the expressed purpose to develop it for ministry. AZM hopes to create a camp/retreat centre complete with camping structures, meeting areas, prayer stations, ablution blocks, playground and an outdoor amphitheatre.

Objective:

To compliment and support AZM’s building of the local Zambian church. The centre will exist under the same philosophy of ministry as the rest of AZM’s programs. The centre will be used as a tool for building maturity and capacity in the local church. The facilities and activities will encourage spiritual growth and restoration.

Activities:

All activities at Ciyanjano Centre are designed to build and strengthen for spiritual maturity. The activities should equip leaders, encourage and grow youth, and strengthen families all while exalting the lordship of Jesus Christ.

Seminars/Conferences:

The PLD team has already held several seminars and conferences at Ciyanjano Centre. The pastors and church leaders that participated in these times were greatly encouraged. The PLD team would like to continue to hold week-end seminars once a quarter to further build into and refresh the lives of the pastors with whom they work.

Camping:

The campground’s primary focus is on church and family life. The goal of the camping experience is to bring glory to God by creating an atmosphere conducive to reflection on God. AZ will provide quality facilities and a serving staff to facilitate such a time.

Livelihood:

The PLD team is also very interested in developing a livelihood project for pastors who work in Lusaka’s urban compounds. It is very difficult for churches to provide sufficiently for their pastors. Some examples of projects that could generate income are: farming, making bricks, animal husbandry, and chicken runs.

Campground Facilities:

The development of our property will begin with the end users in mind. As it exists to serve the local church the facilities will be developed to be responsive to the needs of these groups. The property will maintain a rustic atmosphere in keeping with the beauty of the surroundings. A campground with simple structures, thatched meeting areas and other basic amenities is an appropriate scale for our church partners. We anticipate developing a total of three campgrounds each with the capacity for 20-30 campers.

Development Phases:

AZ plans to develop the ministry and property of Ciyanjano in phases (see Implementation Plan for details). Currently, AZ is in the middle of phase one for development. These phases allow us to move strategically forward while utilizing the property and facilities for ministry as we go along. AZ desires to be faithful with what God has given in the present while taking steps toward our vision for the future.
