Almost there

At church this past Sunday the pastor told us to share what, in the past week, we were thankful for. I turned to a couple behind me and said “I’m renovating my house in Kasupe and it’s going very well.” They laughed and said they were thankful they didn’t have to build a house.
Before the project started, I was trying to imagine what this new roof was going to look like. As Sibanda was putting up the poles I was getting nervous because it wasn’t looking like I had imagined. I would have been crushed if the finished project wasn’t what I had hoped for. But, great news, I’m really pleased with how it’s looking.

With the roof structure in place, all that’s left is putting on the new thatch, filling the gaps between the wall and the roof inside, and a LOT of clean up.
I can’t wait to move out to Ciyanjano and into this house. Only then will I begin to feel truly settled here in Lusaka.
